Project description

The Petite Italie project represents a major transformation in the Rosemont district of Montreal, located in a former business on Drolet Street. The space has unique characteristics, including large windows at the front and high ceilings. During the demolition phase, the discovery of a drop reduced the total ceiling height by approximately two feet.

We seized this opportunity to create a play of heights between the front and rear areas of the unit. The new layout offers a spacious living area that includes the living room, dining room, and kitchen. The addition of a large sliding door at the back allows for a significant contribution of natural light.

The dark green kitchen cabinets give the space a unique personality, distinguishing it from the other classically styled materials used in monochrome tones. The textured cabinet door brings an organic touch to the kitchen, which as a whole presents clean and crisp lines. A few accents such as wood, painted brick, and terrazzo flooring create a warm and familiar atmosphere. Continuity with the bathroom is thus ensured thanks to matching elements.
