Project description

The Alvéole project involves the complete renovation of a commercial suite located on Saint-Laurent Boulevard in Montreal. Spread over two levels, the layout on the 9th floor accommodates common areas, workstations, and a set of conference rooms adapted to different meeting scales.

Upon entering, a lounge is inserted between two volumes that structure the suite. Their placement ensures a clear transition between the main corridor and the open work area. This organization preserves privacy while promoting fluid circulation. On either side of the functional core and elevators, two distinct wings accommodate the teams, creating complementary hubs connected by a central circulation conducive to collaboration.

Three large skylights flood the space and amplify the volumes, giving the place an atmosphere that is both grandiose and soothing. Faithful to Alvéole's environmental vision, the design prioritizes reuse and durability: several meeting rooms have been fitted with existing furniture, including tables from their former office. Without superfluous elements, the project highlights the original architectural character, including the regular rhythm of the windows that structure the open area.

The upper floor includes a convivial kitchen, a large conference room for team gatherings, and access to the roof. The latter opens onto a large terrace offering a panoramic view of Montreal. More than just an extension of the interior, this outdoor space also allows Alvéole to organize demonstrations and workshops around beehives, thus integrating their ecological and educational mission into the heart of the experience.

The architectural concept draws inspiration from the residential world to offer a warm and relaxed environment. Materiality occupies a central place: the burgundy color of the walls acts as a strong visual marker in the journey while affirming the distinctive identity of the place, while carefully chosen vintage furniture enriches the whole with a unique and timeless character. 

At the crossroads of residential and professional, the layout combines comfort and functionality. Each space has been designed to encourage creativity, collaboration, and a sense of belonging, in a simple, elegant, and welcoming atmosphere. This project embodies Alvéole's philosophy: to create sustainable environments where people, community, and nature meet harmoniously.
