Project description

The De Vimy project involves the renovation of a Neo-Tudor style single-family home, located in Sherbrooke, near Domaine-Howard. The English influence of the historic buildings in Howard Park is also reflected in the typology of De Vimy Street. This two-story house, built in the late 1940s, has undergone various transformations, including a major expansion at the rear.

Today, the residence is experiencing a revival thanks to the redesign of the ground floor and the partial modification of the upper floor. Strategically added openings preserve the unique charm of the house while respecting its original spaces. The moldings have been carefully preserved and restored to their original condition, especially in the dining room. The replacement of the ground floor and upper floor flooring contributes to the overall harmony of the ensemble.

The clients, passionate about design and architecture, expressed from the outset their vision and preference for the use of natural materials known for their timelessness. Thus, the selection of unique quality finishes creates a space that is both soothing and structured thanks to the integration of wooden elements. The en-suite layout highlights unique viewpoints between the different rooms of the house.
