Project description

The Vives St-Laurent studio presents their most recent interior project, which consists of the renovation of an apartment located on Saint-Hubert Street in Montreal. In this area of Plateau Mont-Royal, several Victorian-style houses appeared at the end of the 19th century. Curved walls, moldings, and high ceilings give the place a unique character, which is defined by an organization of rooms in a row. This particular existing layout dictated the design team's orientations for the development of the project.

The mandate mainly concerns the renovation of two spaces: the kitchen and the shared bathroom. It also involves reorganizing the space at the back of the kitchen with the addition of a bar serving as both a coffee corner and an additional counter during receptions. Finally, the design of a custom-made wooden desk, ideal for teleworking, makes it possible to match the various pieces of mid-century style furniture selected by the owners.
